Career training includes classroom and hands-on job training to provide you with long term employment security. * Highway construction, cable installation, manufacturing, forklift operator, carpentry

NO minimum wages here - good paying, benefit bearing jobs that turn life around for an entire family!

You will receive literacy and math training which will prepare you to take and get your GED if you do not have a High School diploma.

You will be taught computer skills that will allow you to write your own resume, do employment research on the web, and develop an email account. You will practice job interviewing techniques by practicing on video tape, one when you first enter training and second one at graduation, showing you the progress you have made.

You will visit with job site managers and meet with potential employers. Women Helping Women follows with you as you are placed and advises you in your first year of employment.

The realities are that women on welfare have a tough transition to make as they move to the working world. For women who are ex-felons, the transition can be even tougher. Women Helping Women provides the training necessary to bring all women to financial self-sufficiency.

WHW identifies the needs of the individual woman and what resources are available for her. The trainee, with the help of the staff, creates a plan of action that will turn her life and the lives of her children around, bringing them newfound independence.
